Abstract :
1000 MW synchronous generator is a large-capacity generator. Three-phase short circuit of synchronous generator is a serious fault in the electric power system, which influences badly on the noumenon of electric machine and correlative electric equipment, which likely causes a great economic loss. It is important to study it. By making use of Simulink in this paper, under the d-q coordinate system established a simulation model of 1000 MW synchronous generator on sudden three-phase short circuit. Various physical quantities were studied by simulation during the short circuit. Both theoretic and simulation show, that during the sudden circuit of 1000 MW synchronous generator, there are tremendous impact and surge, and then they reached a stable level after troubleshooting. The simulation results are consistent with theoretic analysis.
