Abstract :
The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is the new European rail signalling system. The preferred UK implementation of ERTMS should allow a more operationally efficient signalling system and improve operating performance. This paper discusses the issues for the modelling of this improved operating performance to support the business case to justify implementation.
