Abstract :
Using muti-sensors satellite data, a frontal eddy was found at 127.98 E°, 29.8 N° in June 2006, with 7 days period and the 200km west-east spatial scale. Longtime satellite measure show that it occurred many times in this area. The whole process includes generation, motion, combination and evanescence was observed. Combining the wind satellite data, we analyzed the effect of Sea Surface Wind (SSW) on the generation and evanescence of the frontal eddy. This study shows that the SSW was the main inducement, and it conduced the evanescence of frontal eddy.
