Abstract :
Introduces a new approach which we call sequential linear interpolation (SLI) for interpolating multidimensional nonlinear functions. SLI grid points can be nonuniformly placed. By applying asymptotic analysis, we obtain optimal conditions for placing the interpolation grid points in the SLI grid structure to minimize the interpolation error. Thus, we use the grid points more efficiently. We apply this technique to the color printer calibration problem where highly nonlinear functions must be efficiently implemented
