  • Abstract
The wind farm with Crowbar protection will change from reactive power source to reactive power load when low voltage ride-through occurs, then the burden of the fault power system is aggravated. To solve this problem, a new strategy of real time reactive power voltage coordinated control is proposed, and a real time coordinate control system (RTCCS) is also built. The strategy realizes real time coordinated control of wind farm reactive power according to the voltage level and the action of wind turbine Crowbar protection at fault times. Considering that reactive power demand of the wind turbine increases after Crowbar protection acts, STATCOM is designed into RTCCS to provide reactive power compensation. Through coordinated control, RTCCS can not only improve fault ride-through ability of wind farm, but also provide reactive power and voltage support to the power system at fault times. Simulation results verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
