Abstract :
A rapid timing acquisition method for Impulse Ultra-Wideband (IUWB) signals is presented. This method reaches the performance of parallel search techniques with much lower hardware complexity. It removes the assumption that the channel delay is a multiple of the chip interval and can reach a search resolution that is a fraction of the chip interval in a short time. Simulation results prove that this method works well in channels with both small and large number of multipaths and is robust again noise.
