Abstract :
In order to explore the location characteristics of banking industry and accordingly the spatial effect of social and economic factors, this paper investigates the spatial distribution of the mesh point of five state-owned banks based on GIS and spatial statistic methods. The global Moran´s I is calculated to measure the pattern of banking industry in urban area of Shanghai at the global scale, based on which, the Moran´s I scatter plot and local indicators of spatial association (LISA) are introduced to detect the spatial autocorrelation at the local scale. The result shows that there exists spatial interdependence of the bank density of postal districts, while the distribution of bank mesh point exhibits the trend of heterogeneity at the same time, which is due to the history legacy and the join force of market and government intervention.
