  • Abstract
    Novel filter architectures based on coupling between counter-propagating modes in coupled- microring resonators are proposed which exhibit superior spectral performance than conventional single- mode cavities. Existence of standing-waves in dual-mode microrings at critical frequencies is also discussed.
