Abstract :
Today´s smart sensors are characterized by the integration of analog and digital data processing facilities. As unit costs are an important issue for mass production, the processors have to be optimized, which often entails the finding of tradeoffs between performance and complexity. The authors present a fully integrated capacitive angle measurement principle suitable for automotive applications. The influence of a finite measurement time to the accuracy of the resulting angle and angular speed signal is evaluated. An optimal measurement algorithm is presented
