Abstract :
Reducing Eddy Current Losses is required for the practical application of power cable systems to improve the cable rating. We have investigated the feasibility of the eddy current losses by optimization of phase relationships in a multi-circuit power cable system. The result revealed that the eddy current losses of power cable systems can be reduced by optimizing the cable phase relationship and the cable rating can be improved. In this paper, finite element method (FEM) was used to calculate the eddy current losses in several multi-circuit power cable systems and the optimization of phase relationship were given out.
