Abstract :
This paper introduces the benchmark problem of starting speed control for internal combustion (IC) engines that targets to develop control strategies to improve the transient performance with constraint combustion condition during the engine starting stage. The design specifications and the engine simulator provided for pre-validations are shown in details. As one of the challengers, we give a brief illustration of the proposed solution. In particular, the experimental testing issues for the benchmark problem are explained, and the experimental validation result of the proposed challenging result is originally presented.
