Abstract
Common pneumatic gauging methods are limited to closed vessels and therefore cannot be applied to many tank systems. The paper presents an enhanced sensor model for a pneumatic gauging method that can deal with vented tanks. The established model is parameterized with standard parameter estimation methods and is verified by practical measurements. The measurement setup for model verification and first experimental results are presented. From these measurements the acoustic admittance is calculated and the results are discussed.
