Abstract
BT is in the process of deploying a large scale MPLS network to carry real-time broadcast television traffic and non real-time data traffic on the same infrastructure. The key work has been jointly carried out over the last 12 months between BT and router manufacturer Juniper Network to close the gap which has existed between the technical requirements of a broadcast TV network and the MPLS network. This paper explores many technical challenges and triumphs involved in this process and includes some real performance results.
