Abstract :
The Fermilab Antiproton Accumulator has been used to produce charmonium resonances (charm quark, anti-charm quark bound states) in proton-antiproton annihilations using an internal H/sub 2/ gas jet target. A measurement of the resonance mass and width may be obtained from a precise knowledge of the antiproton beam energy and energy spread. The beam energy is measured to an accuracy of one part in 10/sup 4/ in the range 6.3 GeV to 4.1 GeV by measuring the orbit length and resolution frequency of the beam. The beam momentum spread is measured to an accuracy of 10%. The two measurement techniques used are described.<>
