Abstract :
A comparative study of multilayered structures containing different grading profiles of non magnetic material has been made using simple Transfer Matrix Method. In this study we have considered a simple periodic multiplayer structure with alternate layers of graded refractive index (exponential and linear) and other layers of constant refractive index. The band structure and reflectance for TE -modes of the structure are studied for different graded profiles. We have found large band gap and high reflectance in linear graded index materials structure compare to exponential grading in same structure.
