Abstract :
Results of theoretical and experimental investigation of efficient operation regimes in orotron extended interaction oscillator with an open resonator are described. A possibility of increasing its output power and efficiency by means of multibeam electron system employment is shown. The experimental model of the device with 3 electron beams which interact with electromagnetic field in neighbouring maxima of the resonator TEM00q mode deliveries 38 kW in pulse at 36.5 GHz with 17% efficiency. Basic design features of the tube are presented.
