Abstract
In this paper, we present that the energy is one of the most important performance parameters in IEEE 802.11e enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) mechanism, there are few papers has referred. We think about two cases: saturation and non-saturation. The energy isn´t linear with the impact, but in a certain energy value, the high priority traffic with lower energy can´t compete with the low priority traffic with higher energy, that is if the energy of high priority traffic decrease, its performance will decline; on the contrary, the traffic with low priority will increase the access opportunity and improve its performance in the condition of its energy higher than above traffic. The simulation result demonstrates our conclusion validly.
