Abstract :
The investigations of the quasi-optical open resonators (OR) with the typical parameters ka < 30 have been carried out. The new experimental method of measurements of the internal field distributions in these systems is described. The investigation results have been presented for different rOesonators. These are the resonators with two types of inhomogeneities inside: the metal strip and the refractive diffraction grating. The change of the wave front has been shown at the position change of these inhomogeneities within the resonance volume. The optimum agreement conditions of the inhomogeneities with the spatial structure of the resonance field have been obtained. The diffraction fields´ pictures around the resonator reflector have been shown. A possibility of the usage of such electrodynamic structures as stabilizing resonance contours of IMPATT diodes has been proved. The condiions of diffraction synchronization of resonance contours have been determined. In this paper we present some results of the summing of powers of five IMPATT diodes at frequency of 130 GHz.
