Abstract :
This paper is a powerpoint presentation of the provisions in SMPTE D-16 that pertain to MPEG-4 video. The presentation gives a detailed analysis of the coding process in MPEG-4 as well as the development of video codecs. The MPEG-4 has two encoding modes in discrete cosine transform and has two profiles, namely the core studio profile and simple studio profile. Comparisons were also presented regarding the two coding methods.
