  • Abstract
The observation and monitoring of inland waters is extremely important as its use satisfies several services as: plants growth, human and other living organism´s consumption. For this reason, it is necessary to start studying its intra and inter annual variability. In the image restoration works, the “Field of Experts” method allows restoring the degraded parts of an image and even completing the missing information in damaged zones. This paper is based on data from Landsat ETM+ SLC-off; which present missing information in certain regions. The damaged regions have been reported on each file and once the areas have been identified, it was possible to recover the digital data through Inpainting techniques. This technique is employed to reconstruct missing sections focused on bodies of water. The recovered information permitted to extract the bodies of water, giving us the chance to build an annual time series, as well as any other available observation.
