Abstract :
In this paper, three structural parameters of a decision feedback equalizer (DFE): the feed-forward filter tap-length , the feedback filter tap-length , and the decision delay , are investigated as they have great influence on the performance of DFE. Due to the fact that these parameters can not be adjusted simultaneously, a novel method of ordinal adjustment is proposed. First, the range of the value of that keeps the performance practically unchangeable is found, then a dynamic length arithmetic is used to adjust and , and both of them converge to the optimal length respectively. Simulation results show that the MSE performance of DFE is improved obviously than LE.
