Abstract :
This paper presents a modified methodology of the primary transducer design for an electromagnetic flow meter. The class of flows considered is restricted to open artificial channels or pipes with rectangular cross section. The project focuses primarily on the shape of the cross section of the exciting coil, to obtain the homogeneity of the vector product (B×W´). The algorithm for optimization is based on numerical model of flow channel using finite element method. The theoretical consideration refers to the results of the numerical simulation of different channel shapes and sizes
