Abstract
Medium or low heat value fuels are very rich in China, and they can be used to generate electric power. Five strategies were obtained when gas turbine firing medium or low heat value fuel. Take coke oven gas and coal-based syngas as an example, the influence of firing medium or low heat value fuel on safe operation of gas turbine was analyzed. The calculation model of compressor surge margin, axial torque and expander metal temperature was built in the paper. The results show that increasing compressor pressure ratio (strategy 1) will decreases compressor surge margin, increases axial torque and expander inlet metal temperature. Other strategies have no effect on the safe operation of gas turbine.
