Abstract :
A type of ventilated photovoltaic (PV) double-glass window was reported by this paper, which could save energy through the reduction in air conditioning load and generate electric power. Otherwise, it could depress the temperature of PV module, provide comfortable visual and thermal environment and operate as a pre-heating device in winter. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was applied to evaluate the air flow and performance of PV double-glass window. As is shown in the results, the better thermal performance would be acquired with higher extinction coefficient of the inner glass and smaller depth of air gap, while the electric efficiency under different circumstances was little difference between.
