Abstract
Cooperative diversity techniques have the huge potential capability on combining the time and space diversity gain of multiple antennas and the opportunistic scheduling gains. In this paper, we investigate suboptimal opportunistic cooperative scheme strategies for the edge-user based on low complexity equal power transfer and equal gain receive combine. The theoretical and Monte Carlo simulation analyses show that a couple of selective remote cell antennas with stronger channel could attain the most diversity and opportunistic gain.
