    Nowadays, lots of enterprises failed in implementing knowledge management projects. One of the main reasons is that they were lack of full understanding of their knowledge requirement and knowledge management capability. As the first-step work of knowledge management, knowledge audit is arousing the abroad attention from knowledge management area. Knowledge audit is a review of the firm\´s knowledge assets and associated knowledge management systems. Value of a knowledge audit mainly includes the following aspects: Demonstrates exactly where value is being created through human and structural capital, Highlights where leverage can best be applied through improved knowledge sharing and organizational learning, Helps prioritize projects for improving knowledge management practice, etc. based on the upper analysis, this paper put forward the research path: at first, enterprise knowledge management system based on "environment-process-capability" is discussed and the framework of knowledge audit model is redesigned; then, knowledge audit is combined with knowledge management capability and the evaluating index system of knowledge management capability is built up; at last, a new meaning is endowed with knowledge audit from the point of view to enhancing knowledge management capability.
