Abstract
This paper presents a second order edge-Lagrange element for the Finite Element (FE) dynamic analysis of waveguiding structures. This element is more efficient in terms of accuracy and CPU time than the first order one previously presented by the authors. It is different from other high order vectorial elements employed in the electromagnetic field by other researchers. The curved version of both the first and second order edge Lagrange elements is also presented. Results show the excellent performance of the second order edge-Lagrange element and of the curved versions.
