Abstract :
This paper proposes a pragmatic method of preventive maintenance budget allocation and reliability target setting for electric power distribution utilities. In this research, supplementary maintenance activities are selected by the RCM analysis to improve the reliability of 12 regions of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) of Thailand. Next, the optimization problem is formulated in order to optimally allocate maintenance budgets to all regions with the aim of minimizing the total customer-minute of interruptions (CMI) of the PEA. Later, the targets of SAIFI and SAIDI of all regions can be set using the optimally allocated budgets resulted from the proposed method.
