Abstract
The auditory periphery system receives a one dimensional acoustical signal that describes how the local pressure varies with time. One dimensional sound signal is unfolded into two dimensional time-frequency information. Some kind of time-frequency transformation is done in auditory signal processing. In this study a method based on auditory physiological process and Fourier Transform for speech analysis is introduced. Especially auditory time integration features and variable time and frequency resolution with the signal frequency are considered.
