Abstract :
RF/Microwave engineering learning among students is enhanced with the method introduced. The method comprises of three components: theory, modeling and simulation, and experimentation. The method is implemented as a teaching methodology to link theory and practice via CAD tools. Application examples are given from the RF/Microwave Engineering courses developed for undergraduate and graduate levels at the Electrical Engineering Program of Purdue University Fort Wayne Campus. Survey has been conducted to measure the effectiveness of the teaching method proposed. It is observed that the method proposed in this paper links the theory and practice and as a result increases the learning of the fundamentals among the students and significantly contributes to their career.
