Title :
The Entity-Relationship model
Author_Institution :
Open Univ., Milton Keynes, UK
Abstract :
The importance of the Entity-Relationship in the understanding of data base design is discussed as is the relative importance that many Universities give to its teaching. The amount of time of those Universities, that allow public access to database program syllabuses, is contrasted and a simulation that allows the experimentation with various forms of the Entity-Relationship model is also discussed. A brief explanation is given about Entity Relationship diagrams for background. There will be some discussion of a personal nature about getting to grips with the ER model.
