Abstract
Roller compacted concrete (RCC) is quite sensitive and construction scheduling for RCC is less forgiving than for conventional concrete. Therefore, systematically managing and scheduling are critical to ensure all related activities be meticulously planned, as well as equipment, workers and materials be well organized and allocated well before construction starts. In view of this, a solution called visual dynamic simulation (VDS) based scheduling approach is built up. It could propose the optimal construction scheduling, simulate and demonstrate the whole construction process in 3-d computer animation, and give the results analyses via tables and graphs. With a case study of longkaikou RCC gravity dam, its effect has successfully proved.
