Abstract :
Greener energy strategies are necessary to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. At IT centers, an element which is suitable for energy management is the server´s Power Supply Unit (PSU). Currently, conventional low voltage high-current DC/DC converters comply with the international standard at 1.5kW range. Further than this level the architecture losses become considerably larger. To handle the continual growth on data centers´ power consume, this work proposes a High-Power-Efficiency Three-phase Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) DC/DC Converter associated with a Positive Double-Star Active Rectifier with a balanced reduced-current galvanic stage. Operating stages, topology analysis, and experimental results for a 3kW prototype with a 96.86% of efficiency at half the output power load are presented.
