Abstract
The paper presents a new universal model of coupled transmission lines based truly on the mutual coupling concept. In the existing model a series electric coupling and parallel magnetic coupling are combined. The parallel electric and magnetic couplings as well as series electric and magnetic couplings are used in the new formulation. The new model is verified by the FDTD method which is for the first time adapted to the analysis of coupled microstrip lines.
