Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new design method of signal-adapted filter banks using an adaptive cascade lattice structure. If the filter bank which is well adapted to the signal statistics is used in the subband coding system, we can encode the signal more efficiently than the case using non-adapted one. The purpose of this paper is to design the filter bank which has energy imbalance of each subband. We use the LMS-based adaptive algorithm to design linear phase paraunitary filter banks (LPPUFB) based on a lattice structure
