Abstract :
The early land-surface temperature (LST) at-launch standard product retrieved from MODIS data with the generalized split-window algorithm has been released as beta version since late July 2000. The accuracy of this daily 1-km MODIS LST product was validated with i n situ measurement data collected in field campaigns in 2000. The accuracy is better than 0.6 K in eight cases in sites over Mono Lake, in Bridgeport grassland, and a rice field in Chico, California
