Abstract
A CMOS pulse equalizer for disk drive read channel applications is presented. The 20-600 MHz cutoff frequency is obtained by using a current-mode integrator as the building block of the current-mode biquad. Tuning of the equalizer is achieved by changing the bias currents. The power consumption was 64 mW, with total harmonic distortion less than 1%. The chip was laid out for the 0.35 μm single-poly triple-metal n-well CMOS process, and it occupies an area of 0.08 mm2
