Abstract
This paper introduces the concept of the cross-magnetizing phenomenon in the saturated cylindrical-rotor synchronous machines (the magnetic coupling between their direct and quadrature axes). An analytical method for determining the parameters that represent this cross-magnetizing effect is proposed. Experimental results that verify the accuracy of this technique are presented
