Abstract
Unpredictable mobility is a distinguishing feature of self-configuring MANeTs. Such erratic mobility makes the network topology highly dynamic and results in larger link breakages and link establishments between the nodes. Routing protocols must dynamically recalculate the routing paths in order to cater such link changes. Each mobility model influences network performance in a different way and have a special influence on the performance of routing protocols. Many academic papers have evaluated the influence of mobility models of MANeTs on network performance assuming similar routing and network conditions. In this paper, we do not cater the influence of mobility models in a standalone position rather we have varied mobility and analyzed the effect of several entity and group mobility patterns under proactive, reactive and hybrid routing schemes based on several performance metrics. We have analyzed that proactive schemes and group mobility models outclass their counter parts.
