Abstract :
Different mitigation methods to reduce the potential interference risk of broadband PLC with short wave broadcast stations have been analyzed. Two distinct methods have been proposed to be added in the harmonized standard FprEN50561-1. One is dynamic power control and the other is cognitive frequency exclusion. This paper will solely cover the cognitive frequency exclusion. At the ISPLC 2011, a new method of cognitive frequency exclusion, called SNR based dynamic frequency exclusion, was presented. This paper shows the results of a large measurement campaign performed in three countries. A comparison between analyzer-based and SNR-based detection is presented, and its impact on the performance. Finally, the resulting PSD reduction is highlighted.
