Abstract
This paper presents a parameter identification method considering iron loss for cylindrical PMSM using adaptive identification. In the proposed method, electrical parameters and machine parameters of cylindrical PMSM are identified using adaptive identification algorithm, which is derived by input-output signal and output identification error. Electrical parameters (the armature resistance, the armature inductance, and the iron loss resistance) were measured under stationary condition, while the electromotive force constant and machine parameters (inertia and viscous constants) were measured under rotating condition. Then, using parameters measured by the proposed method, we design PI controllers used in a vector control. The validity of the proposed method is demonstrated through experimental results.
