Abstract
A V-band MMIC up-converter and a down-converter were designed and tested. The up-converter has novel balanced configuration using uniplanar structure. The down-converter includes RF and LO amplifiers and were integrated into a compact single chip. Measured performance of the down-converter includes conversion gain of 3.9 dB ±1.2 dB for 10 GHz bandwidth. The up-converter showed conversion loss of 14.7 dB ± 1.5 dB and LO was suppressed more than 12 dB lower than desired output.
