Abstract
Scheduling processes onto a pool of processors requires special attention. A fuzzy rule-based approach has been proposed to deal with such a processes scheduling problem. However, in the original model, parameters need to be manually configured. This paper proposes an adaptive framework that extends the original model with a parameter adaptive module, which automatically and dynamically adjust parameters of the urgency sub-module. In addition, the dispatching controller is made a fuzzy rule-based system, which enhances the preemption decision. These added features improve the performance of the model and make it more responsive to the changes in the incoming processes mix.
