Abstract
Microwave backscatter coefficients at all combinations of five frequencies (Ka, Ku, X, C, and L), all polarizations (HH, VH, HV, and VV) and four incident angles (25°, 35°, 45°, and 55°) have been collected on nearly a daily basis before transplanting to after the harvesting period of the rice paddy. Analysis based on a backscattering model clearly showed unique interactions between each microwave backscattering signature and vegetation variables such as LAI, biomass, and grain yield
