Abstract
Software process reuse emphasizes to compose software processes from existing software process components. However, existing research does not provide a practical solution. According to the similarities between software products and software processes, we argue that process architecture can play a very important role in software process reuse. This paper defines process architecture made of evolution process components and connectors. A top-down approach of composing software evolution process components into a software evolution process is proposed based on process architecture. In order to shorten the gap between process architecture definitions and software process descriptions, the stepwise process for mapping high level specification to low-level implementation is proposed.
