Abstract
The author discusses the problem of modelling an analog network by a digital circuit. A novel method is used to find bounds for the modelling error in the case of a given analog network. It is demonstrated that in certain cases a substantial error remains independently of the type of the digital system (FIR, recursive filters; minimum-phase, nonminimum-phase digital system) even if the degree of the system is extended to very high order (approaching infinity). Finally, methods are proposed which help to reduce this modelling limit
