Abstract :
A low cost silicon RF wideband amplifier housed in a SOT-363 package is described. A 3 dB bandwidth of 3.6 GHz, nominal gain of 21.5 dB, a noise figure of 3.5 dB and output 1 dB compression point, P1dB of 12.7 dBm with input VSWR of 1.1:1 and output VSWR of 1.2:1 at 2 GHz has been achieved with a 5 volt supply. The device is stable under all bias conditions. This broadband amplifier chip is miniature in size, 0.465 mm×0.555 mm making it suitable for high-volume low-cost commercial applications. It is suitable for a wide range of IF and buffer stages in DBS LNBs, cable television distribution and cable modems, GSM/CDMA radio cards, microwave links, fiber optic systems and many other communications applications.
