Abstract :
The advent of neodymium-iron-born materials having excellent magnetic properties and potential economic advantages has initiated a new era in permanent magnet technology. It is typically produced by melt spinning, which produces a highly stable, magnetically hard microstructure powder directly from the melt. This can be used for making bonded isotropic magnets having an energy product from 5 to 12 MGOe. The various types of bonded magnet properties are reviewed along with new developments. The other type of bonded magnet is anisotropic in nature made using HDDR powders. The characteristics of these magnets are also discussed
