Abstract :
A retrieval method of remote sensing of cloud liquid water content by space-borne combined radar-radiometer is suggested. A 3-layer vertical cloud model is chosen to represent the typical stratified precipitating cloud. The retrieval method mainly follows the authors´ previously suggested scheme (1994) with minor modification. Numerical comparative study shows that in space-borne remote sensing of liquid water content the combined method is much better than by radar only. Also the retrieval accuracy of liquid water content may increase when using the 3-layer cloud model in the combined method
