Abstract :
It is universally acknowledged that H.264 has a great many advantages of coding efficiency, compared with other successful coding standards. However, as the newest video coding standard, the complexity of H,264 encoder is considerably high. This paper aims at improving the H.264 processing speed with better perceptual quality. The algorithm of module decision for deblocking is introduced and the complexity of the H.264 encoder is analyzed from the size of transformation and quantization. In order to speed up the H.264 encoder without causing great mosaic square effects, a deblocking module of modified filtering sequence is also introduced. The experimental results show that the deblocking module presented in this paper can reduce the mosaic square effects and the computational complexity of the H.264 encoder remarkably while incurring little loss in picture quality.
